arcadefire1 Arcade Fire to lecture UT journalism students

After SXSW has come and gone this year, members of Canada’s Arcade Fire  – Win Butler, Régin Chassagne, Will Butler and Marika Anthony-Shaw – will hang back  to discuss serious musical matters.

Scheduled to lecture at the UT Austin Student Activity Center at the University of Texas on March 19, the foursome will address music journalism students about their experience volunteering in Haiti in 2010 alongside Partners in Health. Exactly 967 tickets are said to be available and full details of the lecture are available here on the official event page.

Other recent Arcade Fire news confirms the first of the band’s two contribution to the forthcoming soundtrack to The Hunger Games has arrived. Abraham’s Daughter showcases the women of Arcade Fire right in what is described as an anthemic, ‘seething electro-rock’ track. You can listen to it now  at Clash Music.
