Did you hear that? We sure did. It was the collective *gasp* of Johnny Marr fans the world over as concrete news of his first-ever, proper solo album breaks across the intraweeb.
According to his official website, Johnny has recorded The Messenger and scheduled it for a February 25th release date via Warner Bros. Recorded in both Manchester and Berlin and mastered at the famous Abbey Road studios, Marr’s forthcoming album will include tracks entitled, I Want The Heartbeat, The Right Thing Right, Upstart, Word Starts Attack and European Me.
Marr, who’s recorded with The Smiths, Modest Mouse, Johnny Marr and the Healers, and The Cribs among others, has also divulged that he will tour in support of The Messenger in March 2013.
