Cover lovers, rejoice! Eclectic R&B chanteuse, Macy Gray, has announced a forthcoming covers album with a spring release date, says Consequence of Sound.
The notoriously off-beat star will drop Covered on March 27, featuring renditions of well-loved tunes by Radiohead, Eurythmics, Metallica, Kanye West and Arcade Fire, among others.
Gray’s current LP The Sellout – released June 2010 – features a smattering of signature, soul-inspired singles alongside a handful of spaced-out oddities, including Kissed It with rockers Velvet Revolver and Real Love, a truly lackluster duet with ex-Mr. Housten, Bobby Brown.
Fans to have caught Gray’s live show over the past couple of years may already recognize the selections included on the forthcoming release.
The official tracklist for Covered is:
01. Maps (Yeah Yeah Yeahs)
02. Wake Up (Arcade Fire)
03. Nothing Else Matters (Metallica)
04. Teenagers (My Chemical Romance)
05. Here Comes the Rain Again (Eurythmics)
06. Creep (Radiohead)
07. Bubbly (Colbie Caillat)
08. Love Lockdown (Kanye West)
09. Two Joints (Sublime)
10. Sleep to Dream (Fiona Apple)
11. Sail (AWOLNATION)
