When monolithic corporations throw their money around, weird but wonderful things occasionally occur.

In this case, American Express joined forces with German film director/producer/screenwriter/actor/opera director, Werner Herzog, to shoot an honest-to-goodness mini-documentary about the boys in The Killers. It’s worth watching — even if you really only ever kinda liked Mr. Brightside years ago — because it offers up some real nice desert scenery in addition to some legitimately interesting back story on the band and their lives in Vegas.

It also (refreshingly) features exactly zero hit songs and the odd, rather unpolished moment…and we think that’s mighty tasteful.

A companion, live webcast concert with The Killers from NYC, also shot by Herzog, airs today at 4:00 p.m. PT / 7:00 p.m. ET on YouTube.
