Brooklyn-based Clare and the Reasons spent the bulk of last year in Berlin but are now back and announcing the product of their visit: a new, third record entitled KR-51. The quietly confident first single, The Lake, evokes Emilíana Torrini and Kate Bush with its simple, delicate and slow-building allure (See video teasers for The Lake and Bass Face below).

KR-51 follows the band’s previous releases Arrow and The Movie. Its 11 tracks are propelled by indie-demigod Sufjan Stevens (who also contributed to The Movie) while “carrying a little more sorrow, a lot more distorted guitar, and a little more darkness of heart.” Sounds right up our alley.

KR-51 will hit July 10 via Frog Stand in North America. For all their news and details on their upcoming Bonnaroo show, visit their official website or throw ’em a Like on Facebook.
