As if we weren’t amped already! The much-anticipated Repo Man Soundtrack Tribute via American Laundromat Records is just weeks away from its September 18th release, but to whet our whistles, an exclusive advance single — Repo Man from Those Darlins — is now available for purchase via iTunes and can be streamed in its entirety right effing here.
This single is a cover of an original song written and performed by Iggy Pop for the 1984 Repo Man soundtrack. For those of you wondering what the heck a Repo Man soundtrack is and why it deserves a 2012 tribute, here’s a quickie primer:
Repo Man is the cult classic flick written and directed by Alex Cox, starring Harry Dean Stanton and Emilio Estevez. Its original soundtrack payed homage to the southern California punk movement of the late 70’s/early 80’s with bands Black Flag, Circle Jerks, Suicidal Tendencies, The Plugz, and the aforementioned Iggy Pop.
