We have to admit that we debated for more than a moment about whether or not to post this brand new Christmas song from Sufjan Stevan’s. Christmas music not only (depressingly) signals that snow and slush and ice are just around the corner, but also, no-one wants to get Christmas songs stuck in their head when its only early October. It’s just wrong, isn’t it?
That said, we’ve decided, however premature it may seem, that you deserve to know the news: Steven’s will release a 58-song holidays-inspired box set curating five EP’s and installments six through 10 in his well-loved Songs For Christmas series. It’s called Silver & Gold: Songs For Christmas, and for a sample of what you can jingle your bells to, give a listen to the delightfully entitled, Christmas Unicorn, below. (We especially love that the track culminates in a most joyous refrain of Love Will Tear Us Apart).
Silver & Gold: Songs For Christmas will be released November 13th via Asthmatic Kitty.
